Yard Sale-ing

We don't normally go to yard sales,
but today we combined a bike ride with yard sale-ing.
We came across a pretty freebie.

Complete with case.

It runs, now that I've oiled it.
It's a model 128-3, built May 1st, 1950.
I even found the manual online.
I LOVE the internet.

Unfortunately, to get it to usability status, I need these:

This is the bobbin and shuttle.
The machine didn't come with these.
I found this set on ebay, but it's $20.
I'm going to call a couple sewing machine places here in Vancouver to see if maybe they have them or know where else I could get them, preferably cheaper.
If not, I'll ask my friend to help me bid.
I don't ebay.
I just don't. :)

First Rose!!

Here it is!!!

Not a whole lot else to report.
School's going fine.
Work is a pain.
Rehearsals keep me sane...
or insane, depending on how one looks at it. :)

Iris

These are the irises in my back yard.
They're popping out like popcorn!

Not a whole to write about.
Going through an attitude adjustment at the moment and realizing that I need to take control of the situation and make some changes. :)
Always fun to do, right?

Just finished our second rehearsal of Wind in the Willows.
I have a great cast and crew!

68 SQ FT conquered

Thanks to the weather, I was finally able to get out and work on the back yard.
It's taken us 5 years to beat out the jungle, take down two trees and rip out a huge photinia hedge, with the help of a windstorm.

We have managed to conquer about 68 square feet to the point where all we have is upkeep. Only 2,466 square feet left to go. (sigh...)

The far left bed has a grape plant (pictured below) along with lettuce and onion seeds.


The middle bed has another grape plant (below) along with radish, carrot and a couple broccoli seeds.


And the far right bed, when it's finally got dirt in it, will house strawberries! Yum!
